The Georgia Recovers campaign, initiated by the Georgia Council for Recovery, is a statewide effort to reduce the stigma surrounding substance use disorders and promote recovery. This initiative focuses on sharing authentic recovery stories to change public perceptions and encourage those affected by addiction to seek help. By engaging communities through billboards, social media, and public events, Georgia Recovers aims to foster a supportive environment and highlight that recovery is possible. The campaign addresses the critical need for public awareness and understanding, emphasizing compassion and support for individuals and families dealing with addiction.

Steer Films was brought on to co-develop the campaign messaging and design how films and videos would support this crucial objective. Leveraging our capabilities as a comprehensive communications agency, we didn’t just produce powerful film assets; we partnered with Georgia Recovers to develop a cohesive messaging strategy. This campaign included the production of 16 impactful films that treated the subjects with dignity and sensitivity. Additionally, we developed a full billboard campaign, providing art direction to ensure a consistent and powerful visual narrative. Our approach ensured that every piece of content worked together to effectively combat stigma and promote recovery across the state.
